Nobody is outing anybody out. Everybody knows what's going on. There's an entire Facebook Group devoted to Starlink on boats, and they talk about this every day.

Thank you for a FASCINATING article and the compelling followup story. It reads like a big budget screen play! This one timely article makes my annual subscription fee seem like zero. I aspire to be such a master as RickiRod and have such capable crew beside me. Thanks for the news, information, and inspiration!

I think the story is a lot less about starlink and lot more about a seriously sharp and capable skipper with competent crew who all did everything humanly possible first to try to save the boat and simultaneously get prepared for a safe rescue. Absolutely outstanding performance.

Since the FCC is a regulatory body in the United States, why is their certification required for vessels and equipment not being used outside US Territory?

Thanks for outing us out! It’s on you if SL decides to shut us all down. Marine version is for super yachts! We are just cruisers not so different from RV ers but we happen to be on an ocean and it’s riskier.
