One time in my younger life a buddy and I would go night fishing in Tampa bay. Over the course of a few years we did two rescues. One was a sailboat grounded on a shoal. We towed him off using the mainsheet halyard which tilted the boat off the keel enough to float off the bottom. One was a boatload of folks that had been adrift for hours riding the tide up in to bay. They shot a flare and we were near so we responded to the coast guard request and towed them to the nearest dock. I asked why they didn’t shoot a flare hours before? “We still had beer and wine”.

I know Luperon and I know these waters. This was one heroic effort. Amazing.
