This is a satellite image of the severe thunderstorm that led to the sinking of De Gallant at around 4 a.m. on Tuesday with the loss of two crew, presumed dead. The white coloring at De Gallant’s last location indicates massive lightning strikes. Weather router Chris Parker says the storm would have visible for many miles before it arrived at the ship.
